Sinds 2003 zijn er ook METRO-winkels in België.
De toegang tot METRO Cash & Carry Belgium is voorbehouden voor horeca-professionals en handelaars.
Het succesverhaal van METRO Cash & Carry begon in 1964 met de opening van de eerste zelfbedieningsgroothandel in Duitsland.
Vandaag vindt men Makro en Metro Cash & Carry winkels op ruim 600 plaatsen in 33 landen.
